Our refugees leave everything behind and come here with nothing.

Imagine coming to a new country where you must…

Learn a new language, culture, and customs.

Search for a house and a job without a financial safety net.

Rebuild an entirely new life in a foreign country.

That’s when IRP steps in.

At IRP, upon arrival, all individuals and families are provided a liaison who provides or coordinates the following services:

Employment and government aid is not enough to cover basic necessities for most refugees. We provide financial assistance, particularly with housing, during our clients assimilation process.

Getting around is not easy without a car. We provide transportation to medical and dental appointments, as well as any immigration processing needs, as well as assisting in daily chores like grocery shopping and other errands.

Most immigrants come to us not knowing English or our culture. We provide personalized English training, as well as assist in enrollment in formal ESL classes. We also provide guidance on American customs and practices.

Our clients often come to us with employable skills without knowledge of how to apply those skills in our work culture. We help our clients create resumes, build networks, submit applications, rehearse interviews, and navigate the hiring process, as well as leverage our network.

Refugee families face great isolation as they become assimilated into our culture. We help families find and establish new relationships, as well as create community among refugees with shared experiences.
